Grooming

Fragrance

Scent is the most powerful trigger of memory and impression. Worn correctly, fragrance becomes an extension of character — present but never overwhelming.

Overview

The art of wearing fragrance

Fragrance is a language. A top note opens the introduction, the heart note defines the character, and the base note leaves the lasting impression. Understanding this structure helps you choose and wear scent with confidence.

Techniques

Apply, layer, and choose with intention

Application

Apply fragrance to warm pulse points immediately after showering. Body heat activates the scent and projects it throughout the day.

  • Wrists, neck, behind the ears
  • Never rub wrists together — it breaks the molecules
  • Apply to skin, not clothing (can stain)

Concentration & Longevity

The concentration of fragrance oil determines both intensity and how long a scent lasts. Choose based on your lifestyle and preference.

  • Eau de Toilette (EDT): 2–4 hours, lighter
  • Eau de Parfum (EDP): 4–8 hours, richer
  • Parfum: 8+ hours, most intense

Building a Wardrobe

Fragrance, like clothing, has a season and an occasion. A well-curated collection covers the full spectrum without excess.

  • Light citrus or aquatic for summer and daytime
  • Woody or amber for autumn and evening
  • One signature scent for daily wear

The Sartorial Standard

Wear fragrance for yourself. Others will notice.
