The Story

About Us

SARTORIAL was founded on a simple conviction: that the way a man dresses is not vanity — it is communication. It tells the world what he values, how carefully he pays attention, and how much respect he brings to every room he enters.

Our Mission

A guide for the man who pays attention

SARTORIAL exists to provide clear, considered guidance on the full spectrum of a gentleman's appearance — from the way a collar should sit to the weight of the right overcoat for October. We do not chase trends. We do not advocate for conspicuous consumption.

We believe in building a wardrobe of quality over quantity, in learning the vocabulary of dress rather than simply following instructions, and in the quiet confidence that comes from knowing you are turned out well.

Quality over quantity

A wardrobe of few, excellent pieces serves better than a wardrobe of many mediocre ones.

Knowledge, not rules

Understanding why something works allows you to adapt, improvise, and express your own character.

Timelessness over trend

We focus on what will still look correct in ten years — because most of the wardrobe should.

The Founders

The people behind the publication

Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Michael Mammela

Michael brings a lifelong interest in the intersection of craft, culture, and clothing. Raised between Helsinki and London, he developed an early appreciation for the details that distinguish the well-dressed man from the merely fashionable one. At SARTORIAL, he shapes the editorial vision and oversees the standards the publication holds itself to.

Co-Founder & Creative Director

Andre Misso

Andre is a creative director with a background in visual communication and brand identity. He believes that how a man presents himself is one of the most direct expressions of his values. At SARTORIAL, Andre is responsible for the aesthetic language of the publication — ensuring that every page reflects the same quiet authority it advocates for.

"The details are not the details. They make the design."
